If we could find just one thing to do, that's easy to learn,  easy to do and could make a real difference in the world as well as in the lives of individuals, would you want to know about it? Of course! What if it was so valuable that it didn't have a monetary cost to anyone? Could there be such a thing? Yes! It is listening.
We are connecting our hearts together by learning how to listen, deeply hear and understand others. So much pain can be healed simply by knowing that another person understands our pain. It's a quiet gift, a subtle and gentle gift. Yet its power to heal is beyond description.
Our Spiritual Online Community is offering Supportive Listening classes to those who would like to work as Supportive Listeners in our audio/video Conference rooms. We are both students and teachers as we expand our gift to the world. What if we could simply hear the stories of those who are carving out new lives after Katrina? What if we could hear the sorrow of parents who lost their children in the Oklahoma bombing? We would find ourselves confused as who was giving and who was receiving the gift of connection. Listeners are giving, their time, their heart, their compassion, while receiving a connection to another. Speakers are giving their trust, their willingness to reach out, one more time, and they are receiving the gift of understanding, empathy and, once again, connection.
